Our Southern Style
Chicken Story

At Bojangles, our authentic Southern Style chicken has served as the backbone of our menus since 1977, helping us become a recognized industry leader. Over the years, the Bojangles brand has enjoyed steady growth, and today, with more than 500 franchise locations in operation, 93% of our of our franchised restaurants are owned by multi-unit franchisees.
Flavorful, Fun,
The Bojangles southern chicken franchise began in 1977 as the dream of operators Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas.
They saw an opportunity to develop a quick-service restaurant chain based on three ingredients: distinctive flavor profiles; wholesome, high-quality products made from scratch; and a fun restaurant design with fast and friendly service. The pair opened their first restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, introducing the world to its boldly seasoned fried chicken.
Soon after that, we added our mouth-watering Southern Style chicken biscuit (that takes 49 individual steps to make perfectly!) to the menu, along with our delicious fixin’s and our Legendary Ice Tea.

From there, our Southern Style chicken empire grew pretty quickly, and today, with hundreds of restaurants growing in territories in limited areas across the United States, we’re eager to continue our push for growth.
While much has been added to the Bojangles menu over the last 45+ years, our commitment has never wavered: we will serve our guests nothing but the very best biscuits, chicken, rib-stickin’ breakfasts, and wholesome sides, prepared from scratch and delivered with a smile!
